  • Easter chocolate demo at Snellings – CANCELLED

    March 5, 2020trevor44

Unfortunately, due to coronavirus, this event is now cancelled. We hope to run these events later in the year, so please check back! I am delighted to share that I will be demonstrating chocolate favourites in time for Easter at Snellings, Blofield Heath, on Saturday 28 March. I shall be making chocolate hazelnut spread, chocolate and caramel ice cream, chocolate mousse, and chocolate, rum and ginger brownies. All will be made using locally sourced produce where possible, and I will be demonstrating how versatile the KitchenAid stand mixer and attachments can be. Tickets cost £10, £5 of which will go…

  • Farewell, Relish…

    October 23, 2016trevor44

Thursday night saw me go to what has to be my favourite restaurant in Norfolk – Relish. Located at Newton Flotman on the A140, Relish Restaurant has been the backdrop to the past few years of my life. I have been brutally sunburned on their patio, been left the keys to lock up as we leave, supported them when they were challenged by offensive locals, and often nipped into the kitchen to say hello and thank you. I have had first dates there – one guy I met at the restaurant actually made it into my top three of worst…

  • Your Gluten Freedom Expo

    October 1, 2016trevor44

It is almost time… At 10am tomorrow, the doors open once more on Norfolk’s premier gluten-free event – the Your Gluten Freedom Expo. Held at The Forum in Norwich, the Expo follows on from the last two high successful events, and is eagerly anticipated by many. Since then, the team may have grown but it is still very much Sara at the helm. In a bid to keep things moving forward, there are a few changes this…

  • Strawberry, lime & black pepper muffins

    May 14, 2016trevor44

Outside, the sun is shining but it is cold! Mother Nature seems to tempt us with a few days of warmth before sending cold winds back to send us racing indoors in search of jumpers and warming cups of coffee. In spite of this weather rollercoaster, nature’s own bounty is plentiful and for that reason, May remains my favourite month of the year. From the cherry blossom dressing the trees to the arrival of fresh Norfolk asparagus in the shops, there are signs everywhere that summer, is at last, unfurling herself and is ready to warm us in her soothing…

  • Sirocco, Sabrina Ghayour: Chocolate, cardamom & espresso

    May 2, 2016trevor44

We had a slice last night – badly sliced and decadent in the extreme, and it was light, flavoursome, aromatic, balanced, indulgent and wickedly delicious, all in one mouthful. I did wonder if a slice late in the evening, before going to bed, was a good idea, but I slept well.

  • Galton & a Chocolate Nemesis…

    April 3, 2016trevor44

Sunday afternoon. The first day of 2016 that has actually felt like spring. And I am doing one of my favourite things – cooking with chocolate. I should point out that this is not as I have been daydreaming about chocolate. After all, it was Easter last weekend and, while I am a great chocolate saver and have only just started to nibble the ears of my dark Lindt bunny (to the horror of my chocoholic friend, Wizzy!), I feel no need to be making anything chocolatey and unctuous right now. So, why the chocolate? In a word – Galton.…
